The Island Government Council approved the call for the tender to award works to improve municipal reservoirs and supply networks for the supply of drinking water in Fasnia. The initial budget is 1.2 million euros. The works will have a term of execution of 10 months and will consist, fundamentally, in renovating the main pipes, installing meters, the filtration and self-dosing chlorination and the reduction of the pressure, among other actions.
Specifically, it is about conditioning the Pino del Agua, Fasnia II, La Zarza and Las Eras tanks in order to improve their condition, adapting them to the regulations that establish the sanitary criteria for the quality of water for human consumption. Measures for the sectorization of the supply network will also be taken. In addition, the Fasnia I and La Zarza I tanks will be out of service, and will be put into reserve to be put into operation in emergency situations.
This is stated by the insular councilor for Municipal Cooperation and Housing, Zebenzuí Chinea, while the mayor of Fasnia, Damián Pérez, highlights the Cabildo’s willingness to undertake this work, «very necessary for the municipality, both in the field of deposits and sectorization, in order to minimize the losses that occur in the water network and to improve the quality of life of the neighbors.
The project called Conditioning of municipal warehouses and supply networks in Fasnia is part of the Municipal Cooperation Plan 2018-2021. Its financing is borne by the Cabildo de Tenerife, 90%, while the City Council of Fasnia contributes the remaining 10%.
