Singer Pastora Soler is the other star guest at Summer Carnival of Puerto de la Cruz, which officially began yesterday and will have its main course in the gala for the election of the Carnival king, which will be held this Friday at 10 p.m. at the Costa Martiánez Complex.

The occasion also served to present the candidates for the King of Carnival, a title to which 15 “brave” participants who come from different parts of the Island aspire, in addition to dodging the presentation turns and proceeding to raise the flag of the Summer Carnival .
The mayor stressed the importance of this festival for the municipality since it will serve for the tourist promotion of the destination, both nationally and internationally and to consolidate itself in the hands of designers and groups such as “the Summer Carnival of the Canary Islands.” In that sense, he recalled that the party began six years ago in a “very discreet” way and has been gradually taking hold.
Another of the relevant events of the program is the Coso, “the first post Covid in the entire Canary Islands”, which will take place on Saturday the 11th at 7:30 p.m., also at Lago Martiánez and for which it is necessary to purchase the ticket in the entrees application .it is. The program includes the Trampantojo route, a gastronomic bet that combines the festival with the creativity of the city’s restaurant sector, which began on the 3rd and will last until September 13.
Although the gala focuses the eyes of the general public, González underlined the participation of the Carnival groups, which in this edition are not only limited to those in Puerto de la Cruz but also those from the entire Island.
“Tenerife society is indebted to a celebration that has always been part of our identity and that has been suffering from the crisis of the current health situation,” said the president.
In the same way, Enrique Camacho spoke, who alluded that “Carnival is thought to be circus and bread, but nevertheless it is a sector that many people eat, that interact with others, such as the commercial, and that in the last year has been one of the most punished ”.
The artistic director confessed that the king’s gala is a great challenge since it has only had a single edition and that allows “to try a different creative format from the previous one.”
The rest of the program includes exhibitions, winks to the Carnival in numerous hotels in the city, to the now classic Carnival Forum that will take place again at the Vallemar hotel on Wednesday and Thursday, an occasion that will serve for all those involved in the party talk, discuss fundamentals and make decisions for the future.
