The Municipal Group of CC-PNC in the City Council of Puerto de la Cruz regrets that the local government of the PSOE and the Portuense Citizen Assembly (ACP) has rejected their latest proposals to “implement a series of measures aimed at promoting energy efficiency in the municipality and make the tourist city a more sustainable place at a time when the cost of electricity is at all-time highs ».
CC-PNC criticizes the refusal of the local government to support, during the last plenary session, a motion requesting to extend the bonus already established in the IBI Municipal Ordinance for homes and communities that are committed to energy efficiency, turning to 75 % of the full tax installment and extending the term to 10 years. Another of the CC-PNC proposals, and rejected by PSOE and ACP, was the launch of a line of subsidies initially endowed with 300,000 euros, expandable according to demand, intended to cover part of the project and implementation of measures aimed at improving efficiency energy of the houses of the city.
The nationalists also proposed that studies and projects be drawn up that would allow planning the implementation in municipal buildings of energy efficiency measures with their own resources or using subsidy lines.
“They have done nothing”
The CC-PNC spokesperson in the Puerto de la Cruz City Council, Sandra Rodríguez, denounces that “despite the fact that since 2019 the declaration of the climate emergency in the city was approved in plenary session, we already warned then that this declaration lacks value if concrete measures were not taken immediately to contribute from the city to contain the serious problem of climate change. In two years nothing has been done, except to continue the process started in the previous mandate of placing photovoltaic panels in public facilities ”.
