Granadilla de Abona will build a roundabout in El Saltadero, once the Cabildo transferred to the City Council the ownership of a section of the TF-645 insular highway, located in the population center of San Isidro, which includes José González Rivas Avenue . The transfer is produced in response to the municipal request that will allow, according to the mayor, José Domingo Regalado, to undertake a project to improve road safety at a point of high road accidents.
The local government requested, in July of last year, the transfer of powers over this section of TF-645, which runs from the roundabout of Santa Cruz Avenue, through José González Rivas and Rosalía de Castro streets, to the end of the Los Cardones urbanization, in its annex with said insular road and Quevedo street.
This layout is part of the plot of the urban nucleus of San Isidro. In it there are important accesses for the town, such as those that serve the La Palmera football field, the church of San Isidro Labrador, the Juan García Pérez school, the Los Cardones Institute and several urbanizations. It is about carrying out the improvement of accesses and road signs, as well as changes of direction preference in different areas in favor of the safety of vehicles and pedestrians, especially of the students who use the shoulders of this road to get to your educational center.
The Councilor for Works, María Concepción Cabrera, highlights that it responds to “an important demand and need in this area”, announcing that the work on the new roundabout will materialize during next year.
