The Ministry of Education, Universities, Culture and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands and Proyecon Galicia SA, the company responsible for the construction of the IES of Parque de La Reina, in Arona, has agreed the resumption of infrastructure works, which will have 22 units, 18 of Compulsory Secondary Education and 4 of Baccalaureate, which represent 680 school positions.

As reported by the regional Executive, the construction of this educational center was awarded by the educational department to this company for an amount of 5.8 million euros, in November 2017, with an execution period of 24 months.

In this sense, the works were partially and temporarily suspended last March in some units, as a result of the modification of the initial infrastructure project to incorporate a series of improvements.

As a result of the agreement, the construction company will soon resume activity in the units that were affected by the modified project, with the purpose that the students of the old IES can join the new facilities as soon as possible.
