SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Sep 3 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Education and Youth area, has adapted part of the training offer that is currently underway at the ‘Escuela Tenerife Joven’, which is now called ‘Escuela Tenerife Joven, Includes’.

The Minister of Education and Youth, Concepción Rivero, and the island director, Isabel Bello, presented this offer this Friday at an informative event that was also attended by representatives of Fasican, Funcasor and Inserta, of the ONCE Foundation.

Rivero pointed out that “the island corporation works on the elimination of barriers, therefore, it is committed to adapting the training offer to the needs of people with hearing, visual or motor disabilities”, and pointed out that “the adapted courses that are offered are not exclusive for people with disabilities, they are open to all young people between 16 and 35 years old, they are inclusive “.

Along these lines, he commented that “they have worked with different entities that intervene directly with people with disabilities, so that the courses meet their needs.”

In addition, he stressed that “for the first time”, since the Tenerife Joven School was created, the courses offered have been adapted, and little by little other disabilities and new training will be included. “The one we have taken is a small step, but a very important one,” he said.

For her part, Isabel Bello highlighted that “Escuela Tenerife Joven has 92 courses on 23 different subjects and from various branches” and has a budget close to 125,000 euros.

The objective is to improve the curriculum of young people through training so that they have more job opportunities.

Thus, the needs raised by the job-generating companies and the requirements made by the different municipalities have been taken into account.

The training will be given in the different Youth Houses that the Cabildo has throughout the island.

On behalf of the social organizations with disabilities, the regional director of Inserta, of the ONCE, Emma Fernández, assured in the presentation that “it is a very important and necessary initiative” and added that “it is a claim that has been made during years, have an adapted and inclusive training offer “.

The Cabildo makes available to the youth population a wide variety of adapted courses with 200 open places in youth invigoration, healthy eating and sports nutrition, handler of phytosanitary products, E-commerce, toy library monitor, sports monitor, food handler and allergen control, and app development.

Likewise, young people with motor disabilities are offered 50 face-to-face office and telework positions on digital platforms, which have been adapted to their circumstances.
