The PP in the Cabildo of Tenerife has asked the president of the corporation, Pedro Martin to convene an emergency meeting of all groups to analyze the situation of the project of the port of Fonsalía and has attributed the controversy over the project to “an open war” in the PSOE.
The advisor of the PP Manuel Fernández considers that in this meeting with the president of the Cabildo Technicians must also be present to help carry out a rigorous analysis of the situation, “and that they give us a vision of the pros and cons of the different possible scenarios in relation to maritime traffic between islands.”
Fernández in a statement points out that his party is missing “the leadership” of the island of Tenerife when it comes to facing the future of maritime traffic with La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro.
He also criticizes the statements made by the president of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, in which he assured that the expiration of the environmental impact study of the Fonsalía port project has not yet been certified, contrary to what his own counselor Contra Climate Change, the also socialist, José Antonio Valbuena.
The PP counselor indicates that this situation is not only an incongruity of the PSOE in relation to a circumstance that directly affects thousands of citizens, “but it shows a lack of seriousness that is inexcusable in public office.”
He affirms that Torres should demand responsibilities “if any counselor is responsible for the expiration of this document” and considers that “this is beginning to look like an open war between different factions of the Socialist Party in the Canary Islands, the consequences of which all citizens pay.”
