Vaccination ends in the Guajara Classroom, the Hospital del Sur and the Garachico office

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has informed this Wednesday of the completion of the vaccination points enabled in the Guajara Lecture Hall, in La Laguna, and the Garachico medical office, after having inoculated 82,944 and 20,108 doses, respectively.

Both spaces ceased to be vaccination points at the beginning of this week, so the patients who were cited in the annex to the Lecture Hall will be treated at the Hospital Universitario de Canarias, while the people who would be vaccinated at the Local Clinic from Garachico will be able to receive the vaccine at Hospital del Norte.

Within the reorganization of the vaccination points in Tenerife, the Ministry is informed that the vaccination point enabled in the Hospital del Sur ceases to be operational this Wednesday, so that people who had an appointment at this site are being notified so that they go to get vaccinated at Magma Arte y Congresos.

Between March 12 and July 15, this vaccination point was managed by the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital and in this period 33,858 doses were administered.

Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases, this point was temporarily closed, since the Nursing staff had to be reassigned to the Hospital de La Candelaria to face the increase in healthcare pressure.

As of July 24, first occasionally and continuously since August 9, the Hospital del Sur was managed by the Primary Care Management of Tenerife. In this new period of time, 11,450 doses of the vaccine were inoculated.

In this last stage of activity at the vaccination point of the Hospital del Sur, the work has been shared by professionals from the Hospital Universitario de Canarias, the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria and the Primary Care Management to be able to combine the vaccination needs of this point with the rebound in assistance for the fifth wave.

From the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands they appreciate the work of the professionals and the “commitment” of the citizens who, with their behavior, has responded to the call in an exemplary way, they comment in a note.

The Ministry also appreciates the collaboration of the University of La Laguna in the implementation of the vaccination point of the Annex of the Guajara Lecture Hall.
