The Cabildo of Tenerife, through the delegated area of Foreign Action directed by the counselor Liskel Álvarez, has approved in government council the bases that must govern the call for grants to finance international development cooperation projects carried out by Non-Governmental Development Organizations or other International Development Cooperation Agents, for the year 2021, which will amount to a total of 400,000 euros .
“Through this call, pioneering in its form in this Cabildo, which will be held in a competitive competition regime, we will help launch development cooperation projects and actions to be carried out in less advanced and developing countries, which will be carried out carried out by NGOs, thus highlighting the objective of the island corporation to contribute to a more just and supportive world, especially in Africa where the Covid19 crisis is being very hard and where the main countries emitting migrants are located ”, has indicated the CEO Liskel Álvarez.
“These grants are intended to improve the living conditions and sustainable development of the population of African countries, by promoting actions aimed at the eradication of poverty in all its manifestations, thereby contributing to the achievement of those of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)”Added the CEO.
Projects or actions initiated during the financial year 2021 and that have a maximum duration in their execution period of 18 months may be added to this line of aid. The amount of the subsidy for the projects that are presented may reach 100% of the total cost of the same.
Entities may only request funding for a single project, and the requested grant will not exceed sixty thousand (60,000.00) euros. The beginning of the execution of the projects will necessarily be prior to December 31, 2021 and these may not exceed the maximum duration of eighteen months from the granting of the grant.
The deadline for submitting applications will be thirty calendar days, from the day following the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which has not yet occurred.
