SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug 31 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Roads area, has approved in the Governing Council to execute works to improve road safety on the TF-13 as it passes through the municipality of Tegueste, in the surroundings of the Los Laureles Sports City , the IES Tegueste and the facilities of the Canary Foundation for People with Deafness and their Families (Funcasor).
The works have a budget of 523,663 euros and an execution period of six months.
The first vice president and counselor for Roads, Enrique Arriaga, indicates in a note that “the General Directorate of Traffic, already in 2017, considered that the area where the works will be carried out is a black point on the island’s roads, a situation that must be reversed by eliminating it “.
Thus, it details that “an important remodeling will be carried out in this section with the construction of a landscaped median, which prevents vehicles from making unauthorized maneuvers, as well as sidings for school buses and sidewalks, and traffic lights will be placed that regulate the traffic of pedestrians and vehicles “.
The insular director of Roads, Tomás Félix García, recalls that it is a high-density road, both pedestrian and road traffic, through which more than 18,000 vehicles circulate daily.
For this reason, “we must improve road safety and the service capacity of the highway, reducing the risk of accidents and run over with the organization and regularization of this point of the TF-13”, he emphasizes.
