The telecommunications sector serves as a framework for a dozen people to find their professional path with the effort of the group in training, the company that has hired them and the economic contribution of the Cabildo with money from the Canary Islands Development Fund (Fdcan).
The company Instalaciones de Tendidos Telefónicos (Itete) has hired the ten people it had taken in for an internship as part of the Telco certified telecommunications services installation and maintenance technician course. The teaching was given at the training center of the Provincial Federation of Metal and New Technologies Companies of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Femete), located in La Laguna. A training action of the Femete + Industrial project, subsidized by the Cabildo through the Canary Islands Development Funds (Fdcan) and within the Insular Development Strategic Framework (MEDI).
The course has been a great success, since the objective was to promote the generation of quality employment on the Island, by improving the training of unemployed people with official qualifications. From university or Bachelor studies to Professional Training and certificates of professionalism of degree two or three.
Ten out of thirteen
Of the total of thirteen participants in the initial course, nine students are already working for Itete and one more will start next week. This group has been trained in the installation, testing and repair of telecommunications technology equipment FTTH (Fiber To The Home), also known as fiber to the house or fiber to the home, as well as for its installation in the terminal box. A success in the idea of uniting three great vectors in favor of training workers and removing them from unemployment: that of vocational training, business commitment and economic contribution, in this case from island and regional funds
On the other hand, the registration period for the course Maintenance of engines and electrical systems of nautical vessels is now open, which will begin on September 6. In addition, those who participate in this course may also benefit from training in specific skills. Specifically, the program closes with various orientation and job placement workshops. Likewise, an awareness and information seminar on equality will be given.
