El Castillo Street, in the urban area of La Guancha, houses the room of the murals that are part of the 38840G project, promoted by the Department of Culture. On this occasion, the artistic work has as its motive the elaboration of the carpets, a deeply rooted tradition in this area on the occasion of the celebration of the Corpus Christi.
The development of this project in the municipal area managed by councilor Lorena Socas began last May. To do this, ehe local government allocates 15,000 euros only to complete its first phase, according to the Department of Culture.
The first of the murals is in the side façade of the municipal Training Center (located on Avenida Hipólito Sinforiano); the second of these artistic creations is dedicated to the wine sector and the tradition of San Andrés, at the confluence between Doctor Fleming and El Castillo streets, and the third focuses on traditional games, made at the school bus stop that is located in the neighborhood of Santa Catalina.
Lorena Socas indicates «we still have some proposals to make, but so far we are very happy with the artistic work done by Víctor Pacheco and Acaymo Padrino ». The objective of this outdoor art project is to enhance the heritage wealth of the municipality and beautify some corners with signs of deterioration or without the necessary attraction for its best location. With this, the City Council of La Guancha also has the purpose of highlighting the natural, gastronomic and cultural excellence, points out the Guanchero government.
