The Cabildo de Tenerife Roads Area has declared emergency work to prevent and secure an unstable slope on the TF-662 road, which connects Guaza with Cactus Park, in the municipality of Arona, a work that will begin next week.
In a statement, the area councilor, Enrique Arriaga, indicated that “the works to stabilize this slope, prevent it from collapsing and dragging the road platform with it, will begin this Monday, August 30.
Likewise, he pointed out that the Cabildo “acts immediately in the face of the risk that the platform could collapse and affect both said road and the South highway.”
For his part, the insular director of Roads, Tomás Félix García, explains that “the prevention and insurance works that will be carried out over the next few weeks include action on the unstable part of the slope, the removal of material and the execution of a retaining wall, among other tasks. ”
Finally, the works, which are estimated to be completed within a month, have a budget of 130,004 euros and will require traffic to be reordered in the area.
