SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug 27 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Councilor for Sports of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Concepción Rivero, presented this Friday at a press conference the solidarity campaign ‘Tour de la Ilusión’ together with the president of the Bentor Club, Ramón González Morales, and the president of the Breast Cancer Association from Tenerife (Ámate), María del Carmen Bonfante.
With this solidarity event, which celebrates its fourth edition and has the support of the Cabildo, we want to make breast cancer visible and promote healthy lifestyle habits.
The fourth edition of the ‘Tour de la Ilusión’ will be held on Sunday, September 5, with 120 athletes and a route of 56.22 kilometers, which will depart from Candelaria and reach Granadilla.
Rivero invited the entire Tenerife society “to collaborate or participate in this solidarity challenge, which aims to make the fight against breast cancer visible, a disease that affects us all closely.”
The counselor also stressed that this challenge “shows the most positive attributes of sport: effort, self-improvement and solidarity.”
The president of the Bentor Club said that “the ‘Tour of Illusion’ is designed for the participation of all, it is not a competitive activity but an inclusive one,” and added that “the test is organized and adapted for everyone without the need for a great physical background “.
Bonfante pointed out that “several members of Ámate, currently in treatment, will participate in this challenge, will do some of the different sections of the test, being in shape and practicing some physical activity on a regular basis helps to overcome the treatments.”
The ‘IV Tour of the Illusion’ will visit the municipalities of Candelaria, Güímar, Arafo, Fasnia, Arico and Granadilla de Abona.
To regroup the group and circulate in a squad, different stops will be made along the route.
Thus, it will leave at 8.30 am from the old Candelaria Town Hall and is scheduled to arrive in Granadilla at 1.00 pm.
