The Arona City Council increases the amount of study aid to 504,000 euros and keeps the application period open until September 14, which is equivalent to advancing the process one month compared to the last year. This means that the beneficiaries will receive the money “in the first months of 2022,” says the municipal government. These grants are aimed at covering the expenses of permanence and activities for the associations of mothers and fathers of students, university or higher studies of music, special education or transport vouchers. Beneficiaries must be registered in the municipality for at least half a year.
The increase in the item is due to the increase in beneficiaries of aid for special education, which goes from 110 to 130, with 78,000 euros to be distributed at a rate of 600 euros for each student.
The largest amount (275,000 euros) goes to 500 aroneros students from public universities, postgraduate and master’s courses or higher music studies, at a rate of 550 euros per beneficiary.
Arona uses 120,000 euros in transport aid for students in the second cycle of ESO, Baccalaureate, training cycles, social guarantee and FP. It will deliver 10 vouchers of 30 euros to each student.
The call of the Arona City Council also establishes an amount of 31,000 euros for the associations of mothers and fathers, which will be used to support the permanence projects and activities presented by the Ampas.
