The Cabildo de Tenerife will adjust the lines in Titsa’s transport network in the Güímar valley as of next Monday and will introduce a new route to improve the service provided to users.
Specifically, it concerns the launch of express line 128 between Arafo, Güímar and Santa Cruz and the reactivation of line 126, to link the Güímar valley with the Guajara campus and La Candelaria Hospital.
With these adjustments, the Cabildo complies with what was agreed in the meeting held a month ago with the mayors of Güímar and Arafo and with the mayor of Candelaria, in which the common objective of improving the public transport service in the city was highlighted. region, making the necessary modifications after the initial period of operation of the reorganization of bus lines that began in July.
The changes made “allow a more efficient and practical service to be provided to travelers, with a new line and the reactivation of the 126, in addition to reducing the duration of trips and transshipment times, and improving connections between lines,” he says. the insular councilor for Mobility and president of Titsa, Enrique Arriaga.
In his opinion, “the objective is for the bus to become the first option for the displacement of the inhabitants of the Güímar valley, and these changes are also based on the data obtained in the first 45 days that the bus has been operational. new network in that region “.
For his part, the insular director of Mobility, José Alberto León, highlights that the objective is to further improve the good results obtained so far with the new transport network. Since its launch, the daily average of travelers has grown by 6.6% compared to the previous year, exceeding 4,200 users.
REORGANIZATION OF LINES AND SCHEDULE
Among the novelties, the creation of a new line, the 128, stands out, which will make an express route between Güímar and Arafo, and from there it will continue the journey along the TF-525, La Hidalga, El Carretón and the TF-1 (stops at the links of Polígono de Güímar, Candelaria, Las Caletillas, Barranco Hondo, Tabaiba, Radazul, Polígono La Campana, urbanization Costanera, Añaza, Hoya Fría and Polígono La Campana) to end in Santa Cruz.
Likewise, the schedules of lines 120, 121, 122 and 142 will be updated to improve connections and line 126 will be reactivated to directly link the Güímar valley with the Guajara campus and La Candelaria Hospital.
In addition, Route 127, which goes from the Güímar station to Candelaria, passing through La Hidalga and the TF-28 highway, will add more trips, especially in the early morning.
