SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug 25 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Cabildo de Tenerife, in the Governing Council, has materialized the extension of the agreement signed with the Spanish Red Cross on civil protection, which has been in force since 2017, for one more year.

“The purpose of the extension of this agreement is to continue with the framework and procedures that allow the coordination of technical and administrative actions between the Cabildo and the Spanish Red Cross,” said the insular director of Security, Rubén Fernández, who added that These actions are “aimed at achieving the highest quality and efficiency in the provision of security and Civil Protection services attributed to the island corporation, tasks that the Red Cross has been developing exquisitely since 2017”.

In this way, among the collaborations that are included in this agreement are the security device for the pilgrimage to Candelaria, operations due to snowfall at the summit, specific emergency care operations, in areas especially sensitive due to the high influx of visitors, in addition to contemplating specific training and training actions for volunteers.

Thus, it is specified in the document that the functions to be performed by the staff of the Spanish Red Cross may not converge with those of the corporation’s own staff, staff delegated from the Autonomous Community, staff delegated from the Cabildo or the Firefighters Consortium unless, For the effective care of emergencies in specific areas, coordination protocols and specific instructions are established for the rescue, rescue or health care teams of different entities with powers to intervene in certain types of incidents.
