The Municipal Group of CC claims to extend to 75% the bonus established in the Municipal Ordinance of the IBI for homes and communities that are committed to energy efficiency. It also asks to extend the current term of the aid to 10 years. It also proposes 300,000 euros –expandable, according to demand–, to pay for part of the project; implement measures to improve energy efficiency in homes, in addition to preparing studies and drafting projects that allow progress towards energy efficiency in municipal buildings.
The municipal spokesperson for the nationalists, Sandra Rodríguez, demands that the Declaration of the Climate Emergency in Puerto de la Cruz, approved in August 2019, be applied. The mayor explains that, in the case of homes and buildings, the cost is unaffordable for the particular because it not only talks about placing photovoltaic panels, “for which there are aid from other administrations”, but also about window insulation, changing electrical appliances for other energy efficient ones and about “something as simple as changing light bulbs.”
