SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 23 Aug (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Canary Islands have registered a total of 198 new positive cases of coronavirus this Monday, bringing the total number of infections since the pandemic started to 90,422, according to the daily balance of data from the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands.
In addition, there have been four deaths, three in Gran Canaria and one in La Palma, bringing the death toll to 910.
Of the total active cases, 96 are in the ICU (+3), 400 are hospitalized on the ward (+7) and another 14,153 have the disease at home, and this Monday a total of 413 discharges have been reported, bringing 74,863 people they have already overcome the disease in the archipelago.
The Accumulated Incidence (AI) continues its downward trend and stands at 86.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants at 7 days and 218.3 cases at 14 days.
To date, a total of 1,969,164 tests have been carried out in the Canary Islands to detect the disease, with a positive rate higher than 5.9%.
By islands, Tenerife adds 111 new cases, bringing the total number to 43,506, of which 8,662 are active, while Gran Canaria scores 68, with 34,557 accumulated and 5,498 active.
Lanzarote, for its part, adds 15 cases that bring the total to 6,502, of which 194 are still active, and Fuerteventura reports three cases, bringing the accumulated numbers to 3,968, of which 239 are still active.
La Palma adds one case and increases the accumulated to 1,059, with 37 of them active.
El Hierro and La Gomera remain without new cases and continue with 439 and 385 accumulated, and 9 and 6 active, respectively.
