The insular area of Roads undertakes, from today until Friday morning, the resurfacing of more than six kilometers of the South Highway (TF-1) that comprise from the entrance links to the Granadilla Industrial Park to the Chimiche-El exit River, Las Maretas. The councilor and vice president of the Cabildo, Enrique Arriaga, recalls that “given the deterioration that this road presented, it is necessary to carry out a comprehensive action, a fundamental work to improve road safety”, despite which “it is executed in a sustainable way reducing the consumption of aggregates by reusing part of the material that is removed ”.
The works are carried out between 10:00 p.m. and 06:00 a.m. To guarantee the safety of users and workers, it is necessary to enable temporary detours, returning to normal in the morning. The works will focus on improving the intermediate layer of the road surface in the fast lane that runs from kilometer 48.1 to 54.4.
As a result of the detours, this Sunday those vehicles that circulate in the direction of the Tenerife Sur airport and want to access Chimiche, El Río or Las Maretas must continue to the link of the Polígono Industrial de Granadilla, make a U-turn and return in the direction of Santa Cross to the link that serves these locations.
Those who want to go in the direction of the airport from this same junction should go to Santa Cruz to the Villa de Arico junction, and make the U-turn to join the south.
On Monday, southbound traffic from this junction will have to exit towards Santa Cruz to Tajao, make the U-turn and join in a southerly direction. They must do the same from the Polígono de Granadilla. Starting Tuesday, always heading south, you can continue to the San Isidro junction, change direction and rejoin in the direction of Santa Cruz to the Industrial Park. From this point they will have to leave for Santa Cruz to make the U-turn at the Chimiche-El Río-Las Maretas junction.
