
The high tide that hit Las Galletas (Arona) yesterday has caused the partial collapse of the promenade of Avenida del Atlántico. The Councilor for Security of the Arona City Council, Francisco Marichal, who appeared in the area, reported that technicians from the corporation and staff from the Cabildo de Tenerife appeared at the site to assess the damage and take the appropriate measures to solve the incident.
The Local Police and Civil Protection fenced off the area, and one of the lanes to traffic was closed. It is expected that during this weekend, after high tide, the works will be carried out to solve the damages and that both the promenade and the road will be operational again as soon as possible, the City Council reported.
For the moment, the downhill lane to Las Galletas has been left open and to leave the nucleus, vehicles will have to take the road towards Las Rosas.

The Cabildo de Tenerife reported the breakage of a transport tube for regenerated water (already previously treated) for agricultural irrigation in the area of the Guaza roundabout, in Arona, in the municipality of Guaza, in the vicinity of the highway of the South (TF-1).
The insular councilor for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Javier Parrilla, who appeared at the scene, pointed out that “technicians from Balsas de Tenerife (Balten) have quickly traveled to inspect the land and take the appropriate measures to resolve the incident with the as quickly as possible ”.
Due to this break, the supply of regenerated water for agricultural irrigation from the Adeje-Arona treatment plant and which reaches the Valle de San Lorenzo reservoir has been provisionally cut off, the Cabildo de Tenerife reported.
