SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug 20 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The improvement works that are being carried out at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium, the Cabildo de Tenerife facility and the usual venue for Club Deportivo Tenerife meetings, will end in September, which reduces the execution of some works to just two months. whose duration was scheduled for five.

The Minister of Sports, Concepción Rivero, indicates that the stadium will premiere lighting fixtures on September 19 to comply with the new regulations on lighting required by the Professional Football League.

Rivero explains in a note that “the works, which have an investment of 2.5 million euros, had an estimated duration of five months, but the forecast we have is that they can be completed in just 60 days, despite the fact that only the luminaires are being replaced, but other works are being carried out, reinforcing the treatment of the pillars that support the field lights, the repair of pipes, an electrical transformer and actions related to safety “.

Along these lines, he states that “the structure that supports these lights, which had never been maintained, has been improved and work has been done on them to guarantee the safety of the people who are in the stadium, in addition, the installation can be expanded in if necessary without having to undertake new major works “.

In any case, the counselor considers that “the Heliodoro will require new works next year to renew the water supply facilities, changing rooms and toilets.”

Currently the spotlights are already installed in the four turrets corresponding to the corners of the stadium, and next week the same will be done with the one in San Sebastián and with the Tribuna canopy.

Despite the fact that this weekend the league begins at the Heliodoro, there are still works in the stands, such as the concreting of the perimeter corridor to the field, Popular and Herradura Baja bleacher sectors and some simple connection, which will be completed in mid- September.

For this start of the season at Rodríguez López, tomorrow Saturday, some toilets, corridors and sectors will not be available to the public and neither, due to the restrictions due to covid-19, will it be possible to use canteens, and it will be forbidden to smoke and eat .
