The Council resumes after the one-year hiatus due to the pandemic the language immersion scholarships for students abroad. The Minister of Education and Youth, Concepción Rivero, points out: “In this edition, online studies will be combined with a four-week trip to Ireland, Canada, France or Germany.” A total of 400 students will participate in this language program
The initiative is aimed at ESO students and had to be suspended last year as a result of the pandemic. Students who during 2020-2021 could not enjoy this scholarship will do so now, although with program modifications.
Rivero details: “In this edition there will be an online course of between 75 and 120 hours and, after passing it, the students will make a four-week trip with a host family.”
The insular director of Education and Youth, Isabel Bello, explains that “for the Cabildo it is very important to retake this scholarship, which has become a benchmark for many students.”
