The Las Delicias municipal sports complex will be available in September, after the improvement and expansion works conclude at the end of this month. This was communicated by the mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez, during a visit to the facilities, which took place yesterday, in which he was accompanied by the councilors of Works and Sports, Dámaso Arteaga and Alicia Cebrián, respectively, as well as by the mayor of the Ofra-Costa Sur district, Gladis de León.
This action, which is carried out through the Urban Projects, Works and Infrastructures area directed by Arteaga, was resumed in February after the modification that was carried out to improve the initial project, which has a budget close to one million euros. There are some auctions left so that the work can be delivered to the City Council in a formal way, while the municipal Sports service is already working on the future management of this space.
The mayor highlighted the project that “dignifies sports practice in a city environment that needs facilities of this type, which may also be used by sports clubs of different modalities, given the versatility of their facilities.”
For his part, Dámaso Arteaga explained that “the modified one was approved for the improvement and expansion of an installation that required some changes to the initial project, which needed to correct different aspects”.
The idea of the government group is to continue developing this type of works in other areas of the municipality to ensure that users and teams have facilities in which as many disciplines as possible can be practiced, according to Alicia Cebrián.
