The San Miguel de Abona City Council awards the refurbishment of works for the partial improvement of the municipality’s coastline, with an investment of 439,770 euros. The mayor of San Miguel de Abona, Arturo González, explains that at present “the promenade is discontinuous and heterogeneous, it is not accessible to people with reduced mobility and, given its age, it is very deteriorated as a result of the saline environment, both the pavement, such as railings and furniture ”.

As for the area of Charco de Archiles, the works will consist of the execution of a wide square with access to the viewpoint, a walk, terraces, solarium and showers, paths and access to the beach. Some works with which, among other measures, «are intended to face the current situation, taking into account that the path does not comply with accessibility or width, is not adequately illuminated, does not have a schedule of uses and access to the sea They are not solved either, except for a path that goes down to the beach where the slopes have been smoothed out with a stepped ramp made of picón ”, he explains.

Arturo González emphasizes that these actions “will add value to the entire coastal area of the municipality, for the enjoyment of residents and visitors.”
