The mayor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, José Manuel Bermúdez, accompanied by the councilor for Public Services, Guillermo Díaz Guerra, and the Southwest district, Javier Rivero, yesterday visited the resurfacing works that are being carried out in the area of the Muneco roundabout de Nieve, on Avenida de Los Majuelos, which connects with the junction of the South highway (TF-1) and the North highway (TF-5) at its exit from Las Chumberas.

The works, which have been carried out at night as it is a highway with a high volume of road traffic, are progressing at a good pace and their completion is scheduled for this month.

The president pointed out that these works represent for the Southwest district “a very important investment in the rehabilitation of vehicle traffic connections, but also the resurfacing of streets and roads in the area.”

Within the Southwest Avanza program, the Public Services area, in coordination with the district office, has carried out an asphalting plan on eight roads in this area of the capital thanks to a planning started in 2018, with an execution total that has involved the investment of about one million euros.

Rivero commented that “in this plan, two kinds of actions have been carried out in an environment that is quite degraded by road traffic. In some cases, due to the passage of vehicles and, in others, due to the high volume of daily traffic ”.

For his part, Guillermo Díaz Guerra commented that these types of actions improve the connectivity of the Santa Cruz neighborhoods with the center “and, without a doubt, facilitate mobility conditions within the city.”
