The drafting of the construction project to complete the Vía de Ronda in La Laguna is put out to tender

The Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Housing of the Government of the Canary Islands has put out to tender the drafting of the layout and construction project of the section of the Ring of La Laguna that includes the connection with the Vía de Ronda (TF-13) and the area of the northern region of the island through the Mesa Mota or Gorgolana tunnel. This action is intended to reduce the current traffic density in the area, in such a way that the contract to draft this project will have a budget of 551,890 euros and an execution period of ten months, as reported by the Canary Islands Government in a note of press.

The mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, has celebrated the bidding of the drafting of the project: “This is the most important action for the Northeast Region in the last thirty years in terms of roads,” he indicated. In addition, he added that he himself has repeatedly requested “the Government of the Canary Islands to attend to this historic claim of the municipality”, so this decision represents a “first step in a fundamental work, which will mean an extraordinary improvement for displacement of the thousands of residents of Tejina, Valle de Guerra, Bajamar and Punta del Hidalgo, as well as the municipality of Tegueste ”, he assured.

“The completion of the Vía de Ronda will bring the Northeast Region closer to the rest of the municipality and the Island, since it will alleviate the load of vehicles in the Las Canteras area, where there are currently continuous retentions, and will facilitate the flow of traffic “, Has assured the mayor, who has shown his confidence that the tender and the drafting of the project” meet the established deadlines “and, once approved,” proceed to the immediate hiring of a work of this magnitude. ”

“It is once again shown that the close collaboration with the Government of the Canary Islands and the Cabildo de Tenerife translates into large investments for our municipality and we must continue working in this same line, both in terms of the road network, in which we still there are actions of enormous importance planned for the coming years, as in other infrastructures ”, Gutiérrez concluded.
