SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug 9 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The National Police have arrested a man, 43 years old and of Italian nationality, in Frontera, on the island of El Hierro, since he had a European Detention and Surrender Order issued by Italy in 2018.
This person was wanted by the Italian justice for the crimes of extortion, injuries and mistreatment in the family, allegedly committed on his parents for a long period of time, as reported by the National Police in a press release.
The arrest took place, through the central organs of the General Police Directorate, after they learned that the fugitive could be hiding on the island of Tenerife.
However, as the investigation progressed, the agents learned that this person actually lived in Frontera, on the island of El Hierro, where he lived without attracting the attention of his neighbors, leading a quiet day to day, to avoid the action of the justice of your country.
For this reason, the agents traveled to that town and, once the target was located, they proceeded to arrest him when he was taking a walk along one of the town’s roads.
The detainee, through the judicial authorities of El Hierro, was placed at the disposal of the Central Investigating Courts.
