SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug 8 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Two men, one of them 52 years old, have died after suffering an accident with a two-seater paraglider in Izaña, in the Teide National Park, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2.
The event occurred shortly before 10.15 am, when the 1-1-2 operating room received an alert that a two-seater paraglider had suffered a fall in the take-off area and its two occupants required rescue and medical assistance.
A GES rescue helicopter was immediately activated; an ambulance for advanced life support, another for basic life support, and a medicalized helicopter from the SUC; members of the Firefighters Consortium; Cecopin; Teide National Park staff; Civil Protection, and Civil Guard.
The GES helicopter located and rescued both affected and transferred them to the road where the SUC medical device, consisting of two ambulances and the medicalized helicopter, had been placed.
While the SUC team attended to the first rescued affected person, who was in cardiorespiratory arrest, the GES rescued the second injured person, also in cardiorespiratory arrest, and took him to the road so that he could be assisted. Despite the maneuvers practiced by the health workers, the SUC confirmed the death of both affected.
Displaced emergency resources collaborated on the device. The Civil Guard was in charge of the corresponding proceedings.
