Punta Brava, coastal neighborhood of about 1,500 inhabitants of Puerto de la Cruz, it already enjoys a completely renovated water sanitation network. The Portuense City Council and Aqualia, the concessionaire of the water supply service, have concluded the improvement works, focused on the collector that runs through the areas of El Caletón and Playa Chica, and which is suspended saving the volcanic flows of this part of the Portuense coastline. The collector is exposed to hostile environmental conditions and for this reason it is necessary to act periodically for its conservation.
In total, 7 sections of the suspended collector and 42 meters of conduits have been replaced, distributed throughout the coastal areas of Punta Brava. The rest of the sections of the collector that still present a good state of conservation have been applied anticorrosive paint. In addition, cracks have been repaired in some manholes and all manhole covers have been painted. During the maintenance work, Aqualia operators detected that several vertical connections of some neighbors were in poor condition, which, taking advantage of the action, were immediately repaired.
