The Official College of Pharmacists Santa Cruz de Tenerife has obtained a 9.33 in the Transparency Index of the Canary Islands for the year 2019 (ITCanarias), and ranks seventh out of the 62 professional associations and the four Canary Islands chambers of commerce from which the data was requested.
In a statement, the president of the entity, Manuel Ángel Galván, reiterates the commitment of the College and its Board for transparency in collegiate action and for facilitate “even more” access to members and citizens, “bringing the College closer to the community”, since pharmacists, in addition to being “first-rate” health workers, are also social and assistance agents, he recalls.
Professional associations, as public law corporations, are subject to the Canary Islands Transparency Law, with regard to compliance with the obligations of active advertising on its website and the exercise of the right of access to public information by any person.
The College of Pharmacists of Santa Cruz has recently renewed its website to facilitate access to informational content regulated by law, such as those related to the organization chart and governing bodies, as well as the profile and professional career of those responsible; the annual accounts, aid and subsidies received from public administrations; the agreements signed; information regarding the processing of personal data and access rights.
